Current Scrambler pics

Got out and did some very easy wheeling. My wife's mountain biking group had a trip to Jacksonville, OR. I tagged along and did the nearby "Siskiyou Divide Trail" while we were out there. Very scenic and easy for the most part. It parallels the Pacific Crest backpacking trail for part of it. We both have Garmin InReach devices so we could track each other. I timed it so I got back to the Airbnb house at roughly the same time.

I did encounter a new Subaru CrossTrek that couldn't make it up a long steep and rocky (for them) climb. Their CVT was overheating and going into limp mode. They were alone for a few hours until I came up and were very happy to see me. I told them they should go back the way they came as the trail gets steeper ahead. Backing down would have been sketchy for them. So, I did a sketchy sidehill pass and towed them to the top. Gave them some ice cold water bottles from my refrigerator and they went back down the way they came. His wife was not happy about the overheating. She wants a Jeep now...

The route was interesting as it started at a decent elevation and climbed up quite a bit. Then was fairly flat for a while before dropping down several thousand feet. You can see the varying terrain in the pics below.

That area is very beautiful. My sister lived in J-Ville for a number of years and Ashland now. I grew up in the Rouge Valley. Hopefully I can get there in my Jeep someday.

Hell, you’ve driven it every where else, why not there? 😁

Definitely hit me up if you do come out. I'm in Redding but would come up and do some trails with you.
